Bing has released its Webmaster Guidelines, the company’s first set of rules covering topics such as technical SEO, social media, content, links, and things to avoid.
Webmasters can find the official guidelines in the Help section of Bing Webmaster, under the Content Guidelines section.
However, Bing admits the guidelines are broad.
“They are not exhaustive and you should not expect to find deep, technical answers in them,” Duane Forrester said in a blog post. He added, “They are intended to help most business owners understand the broad strokes of search marketing.”
In addition to Webmaster Guidelines, Bing also announced Bing Webmaster Webinars, a new series of six webinars the company plans to host from November through February. The free webinars will last around 30 minutes and will cover various topics, including SEO 101, Crawling Basics, WMT Overview, Authority Building, Search/Social Overlap, and Tomorrow’s SEO. View the complete list of topics and their dates in the blog post.
