Stockholm, Sweden - (Website
Hosting Directory) - May 19, 2006 - Swedish real estate search engine, Hemnet, will engage Mobispine technology to launch a service to send pictures and descriptions of homes directly to mobile phones at the precise moment they hit the market.
The service is free, and works with all mobile operators. Björn Dietmann, CEO of Hemnet commented, ''This is a long-awaited mobile service. Looking for a place to live can be stressful - people don’t have hours to spend in front of their computers. We’re making it easier for people to look for their future home and still go out and do the things they need to do without worrying about missing something.''
Anyone who has created a profile with Hemnet can choose to receive mobile updates, and then full pictures and descriptions of homes fitting their personal profile can be sent directly to their mobile phones.
By using Internet technology instead of text/picture messages, Hemnet can provide the kinds of pictures and texts that people usually only see on the Internet.
Mr. Dietmann added, ''Of course it’s possible get information with text/picture messages, but this is more interesting because it is closer to what users experience online. We could never have delivered a service like this using text message.''
Hemnet uses Mobispine, a platform that lets companies or content providers use IP-technology to reach out to mobile phones. Like Hemnet’s real estate search, customers can decide themselves what kind of information they receive to their mobile phones, and companies can provide new valuable services tailored to the customer’s preferences. Customers never have to pay to use Mobispine in their phones.
Joakim Hilj, Vice President of Sales for Mobispine offered, ''People are increasingly using their mobile phones to access the Internet, and we want to be at the forefront of this development. Hemnet understands that there is no reason people should have to sit in front of a computer when they can get the same information with the same high quality from wherever they are.''
Mobispine already makes it possible for a number of companies, including the sports site Hockeyligan, to send real-time information and updates to mobile phones using inexpensive IP-technology. Ms. Hilj added, ''The mobile phone is already one of our most personal belongings - it’s only natural to have your personal favourite Internet services right next to your contact lists and favourite music.''
