Try some video promotion in Youtube. Video optimization is a good way to increase traffic. I'm recently having some success in doing that.

Best Way to get quality traffic
1. Spend quality time on your SEO
2. Identify the Demand (use google keyword tool) and Supply (se's) for your keywords and create unique content that has low supply and high demand. This one method would let you high PR 1,2 on google in a week for specific keywords.
3. Identify how you can get real people interested in your site and refer it in their circle. One way is if you are in the sports niche - build a directory for academies and approach the leading academies in that particular sport and take their permission before listing their site. Have a brief written about the academy. Its a win win situation, you promote their academy , they in turn refer your site to their peers, their wards and everyone else in their circle.
The same could be said about a fitness site having a directory listing the leading fitness clubs in their county, region, country , why even global.
Use tell a friend script in all your web pages.
Always think on improving traffic virally.

A question on forum posting from a newbie 
If I post for say, 1 week with two links in my signature and get 20 links. I then change the links to other sites. Do the original links remain in place or does google remove them when it re-crawls. I notice that when changing links it changes them on previous posts too.
Any views appreciated
