Every time that I do a search with Yahoo it opens a new window. I want it to just do the search and stay in the same windows.
How can I make it work this way. It works fine on my home computer, so I know its possible. But I can't find any settings for Yahoo search that make it now open a new window.

Go to Options (located next to search button) --> Display & Layout --> Open results in new window: --> No

That should do it! Arrow

Agreed. Most often than not, it's with the settings of the browser you're using. Try fixing your settings on your tool bar which is located above your browser page.

Every browser has it's own setting on opening links in new window. Just check for the option.

You are right. In my work I test sites in IE6, IE7, FF2, FF3, Safari. And every browser has own options of the page opening.

Sometimes, even if you set all the options and settings on your web browsing software to the modes you like and still are seeing the results are not the ones you have intended, like clicking on a link on the Yahoo search pages and then a new full window opening, this could be due to cookie matters which need to be set in the proper way.

For example, the recommended point in such cases could be like logging into the Yahoo website with your ID and then editing the search options because this way, as long as you are logged in, the effects would be displayed as you have edited and modified the search options.

Click on the "Tab" menu...

I originally started with netscape. Then I had to change to internet explorer. Now I too have been using firefox for a long long time and am quite happy with it.

Internet explorer was much to trashy with hackers that I was forced to go on. Now I would hate to to have to move from firefox. But it seems firefox is getting to be too popular.

I'm always on the search for easier and faster surfing, so I've got to try chrome ( as much as I hate to).
